DESCRIPTION
Listing description:
Hi there, we're looking for a new roommate to live with us in our three-bedroom apartment in the heart of Park Slope. The room is $1,300 a month and opens up July 1 (the annual lease begins on July 1 as well).

Located close to 1st st. and 7th ave., the apartment is a gloriously-short four-minute walk from Prospect Park and ten minutes from the F, B, Q and R trains. Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center is 20 minutes away.

The unit was renovated about a year ago. It has hardwood floors, high ceilings, rooftop access and a laundromat at the bottom of the building. Plenty of light, with particularly large windows in the (pretty spacious) common area.

The room itself is of decent size, has two large windows and lots of closet space.

One of us is a male freelance reporter, and the other is a female tenant's attorney. Both of us are in our 30s but still have our best years ahead of us, right? We're looking for a neat, friendly and mature roommate. You would sign an annual lease with us that would expire on June 30, 2020. Our landlord requires a $100 application fee, first month's rent, security deposit and credit check at lease signing. Shoot us an email if you're interested! [hidden information].

PARK SLOPE

On the west side of Prospect Park, wedged between Prospect Heights and Gowanus, lies Park Slope, the chill neighborhood beloved by young professionals and artists. This quiet neighborhood is full of fun bars, restaurants, and unique stores, all of which make living here a lot of fun.

Fun Facts and History of Park Slope

Park Slope started out its life as many New York neighborhoods did: as farmland. However, this farmland would soon see trouble, as it was where the majority of The Battle of Long Island was fought during the American Revolution. After the war, Park Slope would remain farmland until roughly 1839, when the Brooklyn grid system was drawn up. Farmers sold their land to the new city of Brooklyn and row houses were soon built.

Park Slope was slow to develop since the area was hard to get to in the 1800's. The neighborhood itself didn't see much construction until the 1840's and 50's. However, Prospect Park was soon in development in the 1860's and 70's, leading to an…
