DESCRIPTION
Listing description:
Gorgeous studio in prime SoHo location, convertible to 1-bedroom with optional installation of French doors. Up one flight of stairs through a beautiful entranceway. Special touches include high ceilings with attractive modern lighting, three walls of original exposed red brick including a cozy chimney with electric fireplace/heater, rich dark wood floors, three tall windows with faux wood blinds, round rain shower with sliding glass doors and full bathtub. New appliances include a heavy duty all-in-one heater/AC/fan unit, and a new kitchen with stainless steel dishwasher and two-in-one washer/dryer. Apartment is in rear of building, meaning no street noise, however it does not get direct sunlight as it is separated from adjacent buildings by a small back alley. Each of the two closets includes additional storage space in a large separate compartment above. The property manager and super here are fantastic (best we've had anywhere).

During the early and mid 1800's SoHo began constructing cast iron buildings in order to reduce the risk of fires, which had become common in the city. The buildings allowed for large windows and apartments. The wealthy elites of Manhattan called this place home until the invention of Modern Steel, which allowed for the development of skyscrapers.
