Short Term & Furnished Two Bedroom & Private Garden & PARKING! Landmarked Clinton Hill Carriage House two bedroom on a Tree Lined Block Near the C train and Available January 3, 2019

If you are in town for a few months or maybe renovating your brownstone and need a refuge, this apartment is better than an Airbnb and resembles more of a luxury boutique hotel. The apartment is the entire rambling first floor of a landmarked 19th century carriage house and located on the coveted "Carriage house Row?, a prime area of Clinton Hill near Fort Greene. It is super convenient and close to everything including the C train, and the area's top restaurants, ie Aita, which is just down the block.

Often rented by boldfaced names while in town for a movie, it is modern with lots of original details harking back to the days when it was a stable. There are soaring ceilings, stunning enormous 19th century antique doors, bamboo floors, exposed brick walls, and modern amenities like the large flat screen TV and a stunning Waterworks bathroom. It's a light and quiet space too with the main views over the private garden. The layout is versatile with a bedroom in the front and 55 feet away at the rear of the apartment, a second bedroom, which is currently being used as a dining room/office looking out over the bamboo planted garden. The bath is tiled floor to ceiling with 24 inch limestone tiles and has a Waterworks  exposed French shower and rain head. The sink is a huge hand sculpted Waterworks Carrara 36 inch wall mounted sink. There's a full kitchen with a six-foot limestone island, stainless steel stove, dishwasher and a Waterworks Copper farmhouse 36-inch sink. There's a washer/drier too in the hallway.

Owned by an interior designer, the furniture and interior is comfortable and chic. It is a mix of Heriz rugs, Asian antiques, antique mirrors, several couches, and includes the living room's 96-inch white couch. The lighting is mainly gorgeous Urban Archaeology lighting, with mid century modern pieces such as an original Saarinen white dining table.

The front bedroom has a queen sized bed and the dining room/second bedroom has 2 couches, one of which opens up to a queen sized bed. For privacy, there are 10-foot barn doors on a track which slide and create a private room. Outside, the garden is teak walled with slate tiles on the ground and about 22ft x15ft. It is private and quiet with bamboo trees lining the rear fence also in teak planters.

Pets are allowed on a case by case basis and there's a small upcharge for them. There is Wi-Fi, Direct TV and all utilities are paid by the tenant. Additional amenities are available including all kitchen items, bedding etc. as needed.

Conveniently located near shops, restaurants, gourmet stores and transportation. Close to C train and G train and it's a quick trip into Manhattan via Uber. The parking spot is in front of the carriage house, and  is available for an extra fee.

CLINTON HILL

Snug between Fort Greene and Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill is a neighborhood full of young professionals and students. Home to the Pratt Institute, this neighborhood has a lively nightlife that makes it popular with young folks.

Fun Facts and History of Clinton Hill

Clinton Hill was founded by Dutch settlers in the 1640's. The Dutch used the area as tobacco fields, even after the Revolutionary War. The area wasn't developed as a residential neighborhood until the 1830's, when it quickly became a popular neighborhood.

After the Civil War, row houses were built in the neighborhood and became the majority of homes in the area. The Pratt institute was developed in 1887, making the area very popular with young professionals.

By the 1900's, the area became so popular that several mansions, leftover from the previous century, were demolished to make way for apartment complexes. The Pratt Institute helped the area avoid issues other Brooklyn neighborhoods were facing during the financial crises…
