DESCRIPTION
Our roommate is moving in with her partner, so we're looking for a fourth roommate (women only) to sublet for the remainder of our one-year lease! Our apartment is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment in Astoria.

Apartment Details
* Room Rent: $1,200 per month, plus utilities: electricity (about $70-100 per person) and internet ($23 per person).
* Security Deposit: $1,200
* Room Size: 12 x 10 feet
* Lease Dates: 4/1/25 - 10/31/25; some flexibility on move-in date but must pay proportional rent.
* Features: The room has a sliding closet and you will share a bathroom.
* Communal Areas: Large living room and kitchen, which has the necessities (fridge, microwave, etc.).
* Building: There is no elevator in the building. The building has a rooftop, accessible to tenants. Only two apartments in the building. A small gym (not free for tenants) on the first floor.

Area and More
* Transportation: We're a 2-minute walk from the N/W train (36th Street) and the Q102, and are walking distance from the Q66 and the E/M/R.
* Area: Plenty of stores and restaurants around us; we're a block from a laundromat and grocery stores.
* Application: Our landlord requires prospective tenants to provide a form of government ID (ex. driver's license), their social security number, and copies of the last two pay stubs. You must pay the first month's rent and security deposit in order to move in.

About the Roommates!
Our ideal roommate would be clean and considerate. Cleanliness is extra important since we take turns cleaning the shared spaces. No couples, no smoking, and no pets due to our lease, sorry!

We're all in our early twenties to thirties, either working or in school. We like the apartment to be on the quiet side and are fine with the occasional guest, but most days we prefer it to be just us roommates. Guests who stay longer than a week must contribute to that month's utilities.

Please reach out if you're interested - we're happy to do viewings in person or through video chat!

Mostly residential, this neighborhood has many hidden gems like restaurants, museums, art galleries, and performance venues. Perfect for those seeking a relaxed alternative to Manhattan while also having easy access to it, Astoria is perfect for young professionals and families.

Fun Facts and History of Astoria

Astoria is named for John Jacob Astor, the very first multi-millionaire in the United States. Back when the area was colonized in 1652, Astoria was originally called "Hallet's Cove." That name persisted until the neighborhood was officially named a town in 1839, when the residents were trying to persuade Astor to invest in the area.

Astor did end up investing and the town of Astoria lasted around 30 years before being absorbed into Long Island City in 1870, and then into the Great New York City as a part of Queens in 1898. As the population grew and industry came to Queens…
