DESCRIPTION
A sunny, spacious bedroom available in two bedroom apartment in the heart of Chelsea. This has been my refuge during lockdown. I'm looking for a clean, quiet, preferably vegetarian professional who works during the week as I mostly WFH at the moment.

This location is incredible! The apartment complex is on 19th St. and 8th Ave, with VERY bright, sunny, eastern exposure (our little fire escape balcony looks out on the Empire State Building). We are huge plant mamas, and they've loved it here.

We're close to everything, subway lines (A, C,E, L,1,2,3), grocery stores (Trader Joes/Whole Foods too), shops, cafes, restaurants, Chelsea Market, the Whitney Museum, Highline, Meatpacking...

This is a 6 floor walkup without an elevator (I know, this sounds like a lot, but you get your exercise in!), with laundry in the building downstairs (cash goes on a card I'll give you).

The apartment has two large bedrooms, plus a spacious living room with eat-in alcove, decent sized kitchen (well-maintained appliances) with plenty of storage space. Large hall closet, and each bedroom has a good sized closet, upper storage area, and window AC.

ABOUT THIS LISTER
I'm an actor, writer, and voiceover/audiobook narrator so I'm mostly WFH at the moment, with the occasional studio time. I'm a bit of a clean freak, love to cook and take care of my many plants, have a glass of wine and watch a good film, or sit in our little nook and read a good book.

I've loved living in this apartment the last 2 years but my darling roommate just moved for job reasons.

I'm looking for someone clean, relatively quiet (obviously it's COVID times, so no large gatherings), working professional or artist who preferably works away from home most of the time (when we're not in lockdown of course), who wants to share a lovely, homey space for the winter. I'd prefer a vegetarian or someone who's leaning that way, as well as someone who loves plants, as I've got quite a few!

1900/month, all utilities included (WiFi, gas/electric, AC).

Move-in flexible, preferably between November 21 and December 1.

First month and security deposit, references, employment/income verification.

No fees, a sublease will be signed directly with me. My lease is up end of February and I'll be moving out of my room, but you're welcome to resign the whole lease with the landlord and I can walk you through that!

I will be showing the apartment. Video or FaceTime walkthroughs available, as well as in-person showings, with masks, shoes off at door, social distancing, and windows open!

CHELSEA

Chelsea is a vibrant neighborhood from humble origins located on the west side of Manhattan between 14th and 34th street. With a ton of things to do, places to see, and some of the most luxurious apartments in the city, Chelsea is a neighborhood that's always looking for the next cool thing to add to the vibe of the area.

Fun Facts and History of Chelsea

Chelsea originally started out as farmland, specifically the farmland of British Major Thomas Clarke. Clarke named his estate "Chelsea" after a district in London and the name stuck ever since. In the early 1800's Clark's daughter sold the land to the city, and Chelsea became an industrial neighborhood.

With industrialization came working class immigrants, who worked the piers and helped build the row houses and low rise apartment complexes that are still around to this day. Thanks to its surplus of industries and piers, Chelsea soon became a slightly wealthy neighborhood. It was even the sight of the new theater district beforeā€¦
