MEET YOUR ROOMMATES:
My name is Jena, I'm 39 and originally from Ireland and Australia. I've lived in NYC for 17 years.
I am an acclaimed author and coach who writes about women's empowerment, sensuality, pleasure and self-esteem, and I'm a passionate dancer.
I love going out with friends on weekends and exploring the city during the day. From salsa dancing, and community events, to museums, etc, I love all that the city has to offer.
I'm organized and I try to be super clean. It's important to me to have clean common areas. I like to be respectful of my roommates space and time, and would love someone that is similar in that way. I don't cook very often but definitely would like to start doing it more!
My partner is a musician, visual artist, architect and cacao ceremony leader. He's from Switzerland. He's a very sweet soul and is the cook in our family.
We value healthy food, good company, and a clean, healthy, home. We seek an individual or couple who is positive, community-minded, a contributor, friendly, courteous, warm and healthy, to join our beautiful home.
We are into yoga, meditation, cooking, personal growth and many other creative pursuits.

AMAZING LOCATION:
It's a completely picturesque spot with a church across the road. NYC is famously noisy but this block is astoundingly quiet. The back of a huge church is across the road, with a community garden at its base. There's birds and greenery. Visible from the front stoop is the Grange, a stunning Federal-style mansion once home to Alexander Hamilton.
Across the road is a green landscape of the 27-acre St. Nicholas Park. The park is rich with birds and beautiful walking trails. It's a green refuge in the city.
Behind that are the beautiful Gothic buildings of CUNY. It's truly a unique and magical neighborhood around here, and the longer you live here the more the magic of the place will calm and center you.
There's a Harry Potter mood in the air. ;)
Tons of Restaurants, Cafes, & Bars in our neighborhood:
Harlem Public, Geisha Sushi, The Grange, Draft House, Fumo, The Monkey Cup, Anchor Wine Bar, Union, Manhattanville, and more, are all a short walk away.
Plus, beyond Harlem, you can be in the UWS in 15 minutes, midtown in 20 - 30 min, downtown in 30 - 45 min.
3 Nearby Grocery Stores:
Within less than a 10 minute walk blocks, you'll find 3 grocery stores. A 5 minute drive away is Fairway health food supermarket.
Parks:
We are directly across St Nicholas Park which can be your extended backyard. Tons of birds, boulders, grass, and fun parties in the summer. See the map in the photos link.
Garden:
We have a beautiful outdoor space with flowering plants, herbs, and other colorful, vibrant vegetation. There's fairy lights in the tree above, a table, chairs, and a chiminea for real fires. It's a real treat to be out there day or night.
Super Safe:
The apartment is a block from the police station that's in the 145th St subway station and is extremely safe.
TRANSPORTATION: Get Anywhere in the City Fast & Cheap
Since the ABCD is less than 5 minutes walk away, and the 1 line is 10 minutes walk away. You can get t to the UWS in 15 minutes, to midtown in 20- 30 minutes and downtown in 30 - 45 minutes.

HARLEM
Harlem is enormous. Stretching from the East and Harlem Rivers
all the way to the Hudson, Harlem has three micro-neighborhoods
that make up this huge area. East or Spanish Harlem is vibrant and
colorful, Central Harlem is energetic and cultural, and West Harlem
is more suburban and chill. From 110th to 155th, Harlem has
something for everyone.
Harlem is so huge that each spot has its own unique history. For
example, West and Central Harlem were burned to the ground during
the American Revolution, whereas East Harlem wasn't really
developed until the 1860's. However, one fact remains consistent
for all of Harlem: That the population of the area exploded once a
prominent Black neighborhood was destroyed to make room for Central
Park.
The Harlem Renaissance began around WWI and the cultural impact
the neighborhood would have on the world began. Becoming a major
player in the worlds of art, literature, music, and civil rights,
Harlem became a mecca for…
