DESCRIPTION
Looking for a roommate to sublet my bedroom and private living room space in my apartment in Bed Stuy Brooklyn.  The  building is a beautiful family owned Brownstone, with lots of character, in the heart of the BedFord Stuyvesant neighborhood. My apartment occupies the first two floors of the building.  My bedroom is on the second (Parlour) and I share the kitchen with the downstairs (Garden) bedroom occupied by my lovely roommate.

***This is a long term sublet anywhere from 9-12 months*** There is a minimum of 4 month stay***

About the Room:

The bedroom and living room are fully furnished, but spacious enough for some of your own personal touches.  In the bedroom there is a queen bed with a lovely queen mattress that is less than a year old. There is a closet and bookshelf.  In the living room there is a full set of drawers and bookshelf, desk, chairs, couch, etc. There is also a private full bathroom.  It is small, but all mine.

Downstairs the kitchen is spacious, clean, and has plenty of storage.  It comes with the basic home appliances.  Just outside of the kitchen, there is a large backyard which is great for grilling and hanging out and there is lots of space for any outdoor planting.

About the Neighborhood: Bed Stuy is AMAZING!

Pretty quiet and residential neighborhood.
Steps away from local Handball and Basketball courts and a 5 minute walk from Herbert Von King Park (great for picnics)
Walking distance (3 minute walk) from two laundromats.
There are a number of grocery stores and markets just minutes from the house.
There are numerous restaurants and cafes to hang out at
Transportation:
Trains:  A (12 minute walk) & G (10 minute walk)
Buses: B52, B26, B38 (normal & limited)

About Me:
I'm  a 30 something female actor/teaching artist living in Bedstuy Brooklyn. I am traveling for work long term, but when I am at home I am usually working on some DIY  project. Painting something or sawing and drilling something together in the backyard.   I'm pretty easy going, super clean, organized, and care a lot about where I live.

My roommate is also a lovely 30 something female who works in advertising and also works from home.  She loves to cook and explore all the adventures Brooklyn and the NYC have to offer.

About You:

I'm looking for a Peaceful, Incredibly Responsible, Employed, Clean, Honest individual to sublet my bedroom/living room.  Ideal candidates will be able to gently love and take care of my home like it is their own, be respectful about noise, able to clean up after themselves, and it's a plus if you have a bit of a green thumb. There is a backyard  that I am slowly transforming from jungle to peaceful picnic space.

Fun Facts and History of Bedford-Stuyvesant

Bedford-Stuyvesant is actually made up of several micro-neighborhoods. One of them, Stuyvesant Heights, takes its name from the last Governor of the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, Peter Stuyvesant. The other half of the name, Bedford, comes from one of the first major colonies in New Amsterdam. While Bedford was a major settlement, Stuyvesant Heights was largely farmland, and that was the relationship between the two settlements until after the Revolutionary…
