DESCRIPTION
Listing description:
This 1,000 sqft loft is newly renovated (we were the first tenants that moved in!), with soaring 11ft ceilings, over-sized windows with tons of natural light, hardwood floors, a full kitchen with state of the art appliances including a dishwasher, in-unit washer/dryer, and central heating/AC. There's enough storage that neither my roommate nor I use it all - we have most of the shelves just sitting empty!
The building itself is right beside the A, B, C, D, subway lines with the 1, 2, 3 a few minutes walk away. It takes us just around 20 minutes to get to midtown making it closer to downtown than most places in Brooklyn. There's three gyms across the street (Blink, NYSC, and Planet Fitness), and a Whole Foods one block away, as well as a CVS and three banks (Chase, TD, Capital One) on the corner.
The building's managers are also super friendly and welcoming - it's a family team and everyone knows them on a first-name basis. They clean the hallways often, sometimes every few days, and bring packages/dry cleaning etc. to your door. I've been locked out of my unit more times than I'm embarrassed to admit, and they've always come through for me with very little delay.
As for the neighbourhood, some of my favourite places within a 10 minute walk are: a charming little cafe called Double Dutch with an amazing espresso, an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant called Yuzu, a Popeyes which has seen more drunk food purchases from me than I can remember, and BO's Bagels which has the most fantastic bagels you will ever have (Seriously, I will continue to shlep up to Harlem after I move just for these bagels).
Honestly this place was an absolute gem of a find, and we're sad to be leaving but confident you will fall in love with this place!

CENTRAL HARLEM
Starting at 110th Street and stretching all the way up to 155th
Street is one of the most famous neighborhoods in Manhattan.
Central Harlem is home to some of the best food, entertainment, and
cultural institutions in the city which is why the folks who live
here are so proud of the neighborhood.
Central Harlem began its life much like the rest of northern
Manhattan, as farmland. A bit more densely packed than the rest of
the farmland in the area, the British made sure to burn it to the
ground during the American Revolution as American forces retreated
off the island. Once the war ended, the rebuilding process for the
area was a bit slow.
Things in the area ramped up in the 1860's and 70's for several
reasons, including the destruction of a prominent black
neighborhoods to make room for Central Park, railroads were built
further north, and the end of the Civil War brought many black
families north to look for opportunity and safety from the…
