DESCRIPTION
1 bedroom 1 bath apartment with private balcony on the 14th floor facing south, in Syphony House, an elevator building with 24/7 doorman and reception desk. Open granite kitchen, spacious master bedroom, generous closets (1 in entry way, 1 in hallway, 1 in bedroom), and all marble bath. Laundry on every floor. Appliances (gas stove / oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher) were bought new and installed in 2017. There are two separate air conditioning units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. You can take the apartment furnished or not, the price is the same. The lease expires June 30th 2021. We're open to either sublet the lease or assign it over to you entirely. Water and gas are both included in the rent, while electricity is billed separately.

You're only a few minutes walking distance from Central Park, Columbus Circle (Whole Foods), Hell's Kitchen, and Lincoln Center.  Less than 5 minute walk to  A/C, B/D, 1, 2, and NQR subway lines.

We are open to September 1st move-in and are flexible on duration of occupancy, though we are looking for someone who can commit to at least 6 months. If you assume the lease entirely, we will cover the first month's rent.

Right in the heart of the city, between 40th street and 54th, lies the brightest spot in NYC, Times Square and the Theater District. This neighborhood is the definition of busy, always packed with tourists and locals. Those who dream of living and working in this area should know that the grind here is no joke. That said, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

Fun Facts and History of Theater District

Before the bright lights and billboards were even a twinkle in the city's eye, This area was largely undeveloped farmland. However, after the revolution, the population of Manhattan exploded, and people needed a place to live. That's why, in 1836, mayor Cornelius Lawrence expanded the grid, already being built on the island, all the way up to 42nd street. Lawrence promised those who moved up town fresh clean air and luxury living.

While people moved uptown rather quickly, theaters took a bit more time. Not many businesses wanted to open in the area since it wasn't easily…
