DESCRIPTION
hey! looking for an amazing apartment in a gem of a neighborhood? look no further :)
i'm subletting my beautiful, spacious 1-bedroom apartment in gramercy. i will be subletting until next april, when the lease ends (april 2022), but will accept shorter term sublets as well.
highlights: this baby comes equipped with a FULL kitchen ideal for someone who enjoys cooking or baking, lots of personally curated artwork, the most beautiful bathroom in all of manhattan, and a lovely "work nook" with an ergonomic chair and ring light! the neighborhood is quiet, with lots of great food and outdoor dining, and access to the 6 and NQRW for easy transit to brooklyn, downtown manhattan, and the upper east side.
***
location: gramercy/rose hill
location highlights
- 5 minute walk to the 6, 5ish mins to the NQRW
- 5 minute walk to madison square park and gramercy park (unfortunately i do not have a key!)
trader joe's 5 blocks up, whole foods ~15 minutes walking (located at union square); plenty of awesome bars/restaurants along 3rd avenue and near madison square park that have outdoor dining
- quieter area with mix of longstay locals, 20-30 somethings, and a younger post-college crowd, but nothing too rowdy. the front of the building faces the back side of a college's admin building, so there are no storefronts on the south side of the street and the north side is 90% apt buildings, so it stays pretty quiet.
building
- mostly young couples and young professionals in their 20s-30s
- dog & cat friendly
- wonderful management, great super - no doorman
- only 5 floors so stays pretty quiet, has elevator
- really lovely building that has great people and lots of cute doggos
apartment
- 1 bedroom, queen bed
- washer + dryer IN UNIT
- will come fully furnished
- FULL kitchen: full stove, dishwasher, wine fridge, microwave, fridge & freezer. will come stocked with dishware, glassware, utensils, amazing cookware. other appliances: toaster, full blender and mini smoothie blender, kettle
- there is a LOT of storage in the apartment. while i won't be able to clear *everything* out, what's left will be mostly useful (like cleaning supplies). there are 2 giant closets, huge cabinets in the kitchen and big pullout drawers... you don't really feel like you're in a nyc 1-bedroom
- also equipped with a nice tv + firestick, desk & ergonomic chair (the desk actually folds up too, if you don't need it), bar cart, humidifiers, air conditioner (which works really well!), good wi fi, and an amazon alexa
- electric is usually about $50 a month, and cable is about $100, which includes great wi-fi and lots of channels. can be pared down if you would rather just use internet.
the down and dirty
> i do have a cat and dog. the apartment will be DEEP cleaned by a professional service before i head out, but if you are allergic to either i would not recommend as it's impossible to remove every strand of fur... i am very clean and keep up the cleaning well so you shouldn't notice it, but want to make sure i don't set anyone up for an allergy attack! both pets don't have accidents in the house or anything so there will be no trace of them!
> rent is $2900 + utilities, and i ask for a signed sublease agreement and the first month's up front along with a small security deposit to cover any potential damages.

KIPS BAY
Snuggled next to the East River between 23rd and 34 street, Kips
Bay is very popular with families due to the great schools,
hospital access, and general safety of the area. However, there has
also been an increase in young professionals seeking to rent in the
neighborhood as businesses continue to expand in Murray Hill and
North Manhattan.
Kips Bay receives its name from the Kips family farm off the bay
of the East River. The area in the 1600's and 1700's, was mostly
farmland. As the decades went by, more and more of the land was
bought off to make room for city developments. For example in 1794,
Bellevue Farm was purchased in order to construct a medical
facility, and in subsequent years, parcels of Kips Bay Farm were
purchased to expand the facilities.
Kips Bay in the 1800's saw more of the same, land and markets
were bought and moved uptown to make room for small business and
row houses. By the 1900's Kips Bay looked pretty much the same for…
