   ABOUT THIS LISTING
We are subletting our 2-bedroom apartment in the heart of Bed-Stuy for part or all of August (with some flexibility on dates - we are open to subletting for a week at a time but would prefer the entire period). We are looking to sublet to somebody responsible and reliable. The building is small (just three units) and our landlords live downstairs with their two young children. The space would be perfect for a Brooklyn home base for a couple, family, or solo traveler if you are visiting New York for the summer, as we are just around the corner from the A and C trains and can easily reach any place in Brooklyn (Brooklyn Museum, Botanic Garden, etc.).

The space has two bedrooms (one larger than the other), a large kitchen & living area with a skylight, and a bathroom (with a tub). The smaller bedroom has a twin bed, desk, and printer, and can be used as an office space, guest room, or child's room. The larger bedroom overlooks our wonderful landlords' leafy yard. It has a queen-sized bed, closet, and double dresser. Our kitchen is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, blender, french press, stovetop espresso machine, and crock pot - everything you need to cook! We have a flat-screen TV with Roku and you will have access to our Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and HBO subscriptions. We have window a/c units in the living area and master bedroom.

My partner Deirdre and I have lived here for almost three years and have worked hard to make the space cozy, comfortable, and beautiful. The apartment is filled with light, plants, and art - we hope you will love it!

*One note - our dog lives in the apartment, so not the best space if you have allergies. She will be traveling with us :)

ABOUT US
I'm a public school teacher and my partner, Deirdre, works in TV production. We will be traveling this summer for Deirdre's work, which is why we're subletting our beloved apartment.

We will be showing the space ourselves. Our wonderful landlords live downstairs with their children. They are extremely responsive and proactive; we really feel like we won the lottery with them!

ABOUT THE SUBLET
Our landlord requires a subletter to...
- sign a standard sublease agreement
- provide a personal reference
- provide a previous landlord reference

Rates are...
$2450 entire month
$1300 biweekly
$700 weekly
Including furnished apt with all utilities

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT

Commonly known as "Bed-Stuy", this densely populated neighborhood in Brooklyn is a busy residential and commercial area. Surrounded by Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Bushwick and Willaimsburg, the neighborhood has an easy commute to Manhattan and typically offers lower rent than its neighbors, making this a popular place for young professionals and students. Those looking to rent in this neighborhood can expect to find their home on beautifully tree-lined, brownstone filled streets.

Fun Facts and History of Bedford-Stuyvesant

Bedford-Stuyvesant is actually made up of several micro-neighborhoods. One of them, Stuyvesant Heights, takes its name from the last Governor of the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, Peter Stuyvesant. The other half of the name, Bedford, comes from one of the first major colonies in New Amsterdam. While Bedford was a major settlement, Stuyvesant Heights was largely farmland, and that was the relationship between the two settlements until after the Revolutionary…
