DESCRIPTION
This is a listing for a 3-month short-term lease assignment for a semi-private flex bedroom in a 1bd/1bath apartment in Murray Hill in Murray Hill near 34th and Park with a roommate (23-year-old Asian Male) in the main bedroom.

I am moving to California for a new job in early May, and I am seeking a tenant to take over my share of the lease that ends July 31st and move in to the flex bedroom where I am currently staying.

The room is available for move-in starting 4/27. If you move in during April, I will not charge pro rata rent for April; the new tenant will be responsible for rent starting in May. The new tenant will take my place in the flex bedroom in the living room through the end of July, and the lease will be assigned to him until then.

I AM HEAVILY SUBSIDIZING THE RENT OUT OF POCKET SUCH THAT THE NEW TENANT WILL PAY ONLY $1,300/MONTH IN RENT. I need to move out in early May, and I would rather recoup a portion of the rent rather none of it. Utilities will be an additional $50 - $75/month.

My roommate, who is staying in the main bedroom, works in software engineering and is quiet, respectful, and unobtrusive.

The apartment has a shared kitchen, bathroom, and small common area. The flex bedroom advertised features access to the balcony, which has an unobstructed view of the Empire State Building.

The building is centrally located and is within 2 blocks of the 6 subway line. Grocery stores, pharmacies, and other subway lines / major stations are less than 15 minutes away by foot. The building has 24/7 doorman services, a gym, a bike parking garage, laundry on-site, a rooftop lounge, and an elevator.

The room is furnished with everything except for a mattress.

Fun Facts and History of Murray Hill

In 1762, successful merchant Robert Murray decided to build a Mansion and farm on a desolate portion of Manhattan. His farm started from modern day 32nd street and extended north to about modern day 38th. The land would remain in the hand of the various Murray's until 1835 when a fire swept the land that the Murray's had been renting to various people and government bodies. Around the 1850's row houses began being built in the area, and they soon became very popular with theā€¦
