History

Like most of Downtown Miami, this area was among one of the first places in all of Miami that was settled by pioneers. Urban development took place in the late 19th century, which led to an increase of interest in the area. This development has continued over the last few decades and the whole of Downtown Miami has been experiencing a boom in terms of population growth during the last decade or so.

Park West is also going to be going through even more development in the near future. A large portion of the western part of the neighborhood will be transformed into the Miami Worldcenter over the next few years. This will be a multi-use development area that will contain condos, hotels, retail space as some of its highlights.

However, this convenience and the fact that the neighborhood is very small and exclusive comes with a price.
