Hult International Business School was initially named Arthur D Little School of Management back in 1964, as an offspring of his management consulting firm, dedicated to training management leaders from developing countries.
In 2003, the school changed its name to Hult to acknowledge the name of Bertil Hult, the new holder, also the founder of EF Education First, a worldwide education organization. Since then, the school has grown into 6 more campuses: San Francisco, Shanghai, Dubai, London, New York and now Ashridge (UK), thanks to the recent merger with Ashridge Business School. Currently, it has about 3.000 students in their locations worldwide.
If you are interested in sports, Boston is your city. Named “one of the most fittest cities in America”, the Hub hosts an array of teams for every taste: Boston Celtics (basketball), Red Sox (baseball), Boston Bruins(ice hockey), New England Revolution (soccer) and the Patriots (football). You will enjoy each their seasons among the fervent local followers, making for a great experience.
Located at Education Street, Hult Boston Campus is formed by one big 10 story building, recently renovated with state of the art rooms, advanced technology and security features, including 53 multimedia rooms, 360º views of the Charles River and completed by a restaurant and bar (quite famous among students) by the right entrance.
The building is fully dedicated to its academic programs: Global One-Year MBA, Master in Marketing, Master in International Business and Master in Finance, hosting also local events and dedicated conferences due its central location, within reach from everywhere in the city.
Students are mostly expected to commute using public transportation or biking and walking during the spring and summer months. To arrive, you can use the Green Line (Lechmere or Science Park) and the Orange line (Community College), also buses 69 and 70 and 71.
Hult Boston does not offer housing accommodations, so you pretty much are by yourself and we suggest you to start looking by May / June. Due the short term of their programs (One Year), and climatic conditions (half of the term is held during the winter months), most of their students rent apartments on One-year leases in the nearby neighborhoods: Cambridge, Somerville, Charlestown, North End, Medford or Malden.
Moving costs: attached to their relocation costs, are 4 months upfront of rent that on average they have to pay the real estate agents to secure the apartment: first month, last month, security deposit and agent fees. The security deposit gets returned at the end of the lease.
Most of the students are internationals, so only a handful of them stay every year. Those who do, try to find a place near their upcoming position or more affordable for the long term. Popular neighborhoods are Somerville, Jamaica Plain, Brighton, Allston and Waltham, a suburb that is also a hub for innovation and large corporations close to Boston.
With more than 300 colleges and universities and a student population over 200.000, you will always find something to do, an activity to enjoy, a seafood restaurant to try or a new biking path.
