(Our friends at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ny.curbed.com\/archives\/2014\/05\/22\/heatmap_visualizes_hot_or_not_neighborhoods_for_rentals.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Curbed NY<\/a>\u00a0wrote about the Heatmaps last week!)<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.renthop.com\/map?min_price=0&amp;max_price=8000&amp;q=&amp;c_lat=40.7056308&amp;c_lon=-73.9780035&amp;lat_offset=0.12492612265015736&amp;lon_offset=0.38726806640625&amp;zoom=13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rental Heatmaps<\/a>\u00a0give access for the first time to aggregated real-time rental price data at the neighborhood level for many major metro areas in an easy-to-use map-based format. The Heatmaps show:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0percentile, 50<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0percentile and 75<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0percentile rents for different floorplans in each neighborhood;<\/li>\n<li>For each neighborhood, a comparison of the neighborhood\u2019s median rent to the overall metro area\u2019s median rent; and<\/li>\n<li>Year-over-year rent trends on a per-neighborhood basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Why are we so excited? Sometimes a more expensive apartment may actually be a better deal than a cheaper apartment when you look at all of the neighborhood data.\u00a0The Heatmaps allow you\u00a0to make \u2018apples to apples\u2019 comparisons so you can identify those great deals and have an early-mover advantage to nabbing a great apartment or rental home.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Heatmaps are free to access and easy to use:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On <a href=\"www.renthop.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RentHop<\/a>, select \u201cView Map\u201d;<\/li>\n<li>Go to the metro area in which you\u2019re interested;<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cShow Neighborhoods\u201d on the right side of the screen; and<\/li>\n<li>Roll your cursor over the neighborhoods you want to see.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can easily toggle between the regular view, the Neighborhood Price Heatmap and YoY Price Heatmap and can view listings while the Rental Heatmaps are activated.
