Though Cambridge itself is considered a suburb/neighborhood of
Boston, there are a number of smaller neighborhoods inside of it as
well. One of the most upscale and busy neighborhoods is East
Cambridge. This neighborhood of over 7,000 residents is only a
short bridge away from the heart of Boston and is full of labs and
office buildings, thanks to its proximity to MIT. If you're looking
for an apartment in an upscale and busy neighborhood with a lot to
offer, East Cambridge might be the place for you.
Even within a neighborhood as small as East Cambridge, the
atmosphere varies a lot from north to south. In the north, East
Cambridge is fairly underdeveloped and is largely a residential and
transit area. However, the south is a different story. With the
south neighborhood being only minutes away from the main campus of
MIT, it is full of laboratories and mainly consists of office
buildings and luxury apartments.
