During the time following the Civil War a great influx of Polish immigrants made Lincoln Park their home, brought in by reasonable living prices accented by such a great location. In 1934 here, outside the Biograph theatre, the notorious mobster John Dillinger was famously shot by FBI agents. It endured the waves of boom and bust very well and Lincoln Park is now one of the safest and enviable Chicago neighborhoods to have an apartment in.

Atmosphere

Dinner at the top-rated and triple Michelin starred ‘Alinea’ will require some advanced reservations; with the restaurant and your bank account, but you won’t find a mouth that says it isn’t worth it. North Pond embodies Chicago’s “city in a garden” epithet with a friendly green ambience. Catch a show at the historic Biograph theatre or the Steppenwolf theatre; the latter hosts fresh off-Broadway shows with worldwide acclaim.
