Biking is very popular in Downtown Brooklyn. There are miles of bike lanes and plenty of Citi Bike docking stations. Just be aware of pedestrian traffic.
Driving is not recommended in this part of Brooklyn. Parking is difficult and traffic is rough, especially during rush hour.
