Cost of Posting a Listing
Posting a listing to RentHop.com is 100% free! Our goal has always been to empower our users with all of the information they need to find apartments on their own. More recently, we also offer a free no-fee agent service where our affiliated agents provide full broker services and receive compensation directly from landlord incentives. We currently do not charge either the apartment hunter or the landlord to use all of the features of our site.
For Small Landlords and Individual Apartment Owners
RentHop.com allows both anonymous and registered posting of listing. Posting is 100% free and requires no registration. To post a listing, simply click on the "Post Listing!" button on the top right of the screen. We encourage you to register, which not only gives you access to some of the more advanced tools, but also tags your post as a "Registered User Post".
Our visitors trust that every listing found on our site is listed by an owner or an identified agent, that the address and photos are genuine, and that the contact information provided is the most direct path to a signed lease. To that extent, we may call or email to confirm the accuracy of listings.
For Large Landlords and Property Managers
RentHop.com offers special accounts to large landlords. This account has tools that simplify the process of managing multiple properties and listings. Please contact us (listings@renthop.com) if you fit into this category. Indicate in the subject of the email 'New Landlord Account Request'. Listings posted by qualified landlords do not bear the "User Post" or "Registered User Post" tag.
Listing Requirements
If you are a larger landlord interested in posting a no-fee listing on our site, you must be willing to let us publish the following:
- Full street address of the building
- Valid phone number and email address for access contact
- A website link containing the unit, building, or management company details
- Hours in which the unit is available for viewing
- Photos of the specific unit
- An accurate list of building amenities
Landlords must also agree to keep the listings up-to-date in the event of price changes, pending applications, or leases signed. We do allow landlords to upload many listings and only show select units, hiding the rest.
Apartment Hunters visiting our website expect to see only no-fee apartments in the New York City area. Any reports of landlords attempting to collect a broker fee will be investigated. Landlords found to be violating our terms may have their accounts suspended or terminated.
